Casa Testori

It is a cultural hub established on the outskirts of Milan, specializing in the production and enhancement of contemporary art. It occupies the house where Giovanni Testori was born, a two-story early 20th century villa with an indoor garden. Casa Testori today is presided over by Carlo Maria Pinardi. Casa Testori is a Cultural Institute recognized by the MIC (Ministry of Culture).

July: new opening hours and so much to discover
Casa Testori is staying open, though with a few adjustments for our summer schedule. It is the perfect opportunity to visit the two exhibitions on the first floor. The first, “Cantiere per La Cattedrale” (A Workshop for The Cathedral), curated by Alice Boltri, showcases two recent archival discoveries: an overwhelming, one-sided series of love letters and three notebooks containing the handwritten drafts of the novel La Cattedrale, born from that very experience.

Education

It is the word “home” that guides our educational approach: Casa Testori as a familiar place to return to, a place to turn to in order to experience oneself, one’s knowledge, and to acquire new learning.
Our aim is not only to transmit knowledge, but also to foster the development of skills through active and participatory engagement with the experiences we offer.

The figure of Giovanni Testori, with his rich and layered creative force—from literature to theater, from essays to poetry to art—offers numerous insights for the creation of a catalogue of proposals centered on Casa Testori’s permanent collection, its library, and all the materials that can be made available to the public.
