A Cultural Heritage
Open
to Everyone

Casa Testori is a point of reference for researchers, volunteers, young artists, students, and scholars.
It is spread over two levels: the ground floor is dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions, while the first floor houses the Archive, the Library, and five exhibition rooms dedicated to the heritage related to the work of Giovanni Testori.

Currently, the first floor is inaccessible to people with motor disabilities due to the lack of an elevator, but our goal is for everyone to be able to access this important cultural heritage.

This need gave rise to the project “Saliamo tutti!” (“Let’s All Go Up!”), an initiative aimed at installing an elevator for people with disabilities and adapting the bathroom on the first floor—bridging a major gap and finally opening Casa Testori to everyone.

To make this cultural space truly inclusive, welcoming, and barrier-free, Casa Testori has for years been reflecting on ways to provide appropriate cultural mediation, especially for people with special needs.
One example is the collaboration with DescriVedendo, a highly inclusive method based on the use of specific words and phrases to effectively describe figures, shapes, lights, and colors.
This effective tool has been used to make Giovanni Testori’s “Crucifixion” (1949) accessible to blind or visually impaired individuals.

The Casa Testori team is committed to offering a fully welcoming experience to anyone who wants to explore Testori’s legacy and the initiatives on offer.
We are always available to welcome visitors and guide them through the Casa Testori spaces, answer questions or curiosities about exhibitions and permanent works, and share the story of the House itself.

Casa Testori also offers associations working in the fields of disability and inclusion the opportunity to discover the House and organize dedicated visits.
