Casa Testori reopens its doors to the public while infrastructure work—begun at the end of August—continues. The project will ensure that all spaces become fully accessible to everyone, in the spirit of genuine and total inclusivity. On Friday, October 10, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, visitors will be able to explore the new ground-floor installations, which will remain on view until November 1.

The first of the two exhibition projects, “SALIAMO TUTTI!” (Let’s All Go Up!), is closely linked to the fundraising campaign of the same name launched by Casa Testori to support the structural renovation project led by architect Lorenzo Margiotta. The renovation will include the installation of an elevator, making it possible to reach the first floor of the House—currently only accessible by a double staircase—as well as a fully equipped accessible restroom for people with physical disabilities or reduced mobility.

In early 2025, Casa Testori’s project “Collezioniamoci” won the “Cultura diffusa” grant promoted by Fondazione Cariplo, which will cover 70% of the planned renovation costs. To fund the remaining portion, Casa Testori has launched a crowdfunding campaign—one of the most effective ways to support cultural and social initiatives of nonprofit organizations.

The exhibition “SALIAMO TUTTI!” offers the perfect opportunity to show how deeply art and community needs are intertwined at Casa Testori. On display will be posters created and donated by seven artists who have previously collaborated with the House: Andrea Bianconi, Sofia Bersanelli, Emma Ciceri, Giovanni Frangi, Andrea Mastrovito, Matteo Negri, and Velasco Vitali. Printed in limited editions, the posters will be given to supporters of the fundraising campaign, alongside other rewards that can be explored on Casa Testori’s website.

The exhibition will also feature the architectural project presentation, with a special display designed by architect Margiotta, and a video with testimonials from long-time friends and supporters of Casa Testori: Antonia Madella Noja (Secretary General of Fondazione TOG), Valentina Genovese (professor at the Orio Vergani Institute of Novate Milanese), Serena Porcari (CEO of Fondazione Dynamo Camp and President of Dynamo Academy), Lisa Noja (Councilor of the Lombardy Region), and Arianna Piazza (Head of Project Development at Ambarabart Srls).

To support the fundraising campaign, donations can be made through the project page “Saliamo tutti! An elevator (and a bathroom) for accessibility at Casa Testori” on the Intesa Sanpaolo ForFunding platform.

The second installation will be dedicated to Giovanni Testori and his long, intense, and complex relationship with Alain Toubas, drawing on materials from the Giovanni Testori Archive: drawings, books, photographs, manuscripts, and theater posters. This exhibition offers an initial glimpse into the theme at the heart of Alessandro Bandini’s upcoming play, “Per sempre” (Forever), which explores their love story through the correspondence between Testori and Toubas. The play will premiere at LAC Lugano on October 22, 2025, before moving to the Piccolo Teatro in Milan on December 2, 2025, with a press conference scheduled for October 13, 2025.

Together, these two installations—seemingly so different from one another—bear witness both to Casa Testori’s vitality as a cultural hub and to the central role of its Archive, which is the beating heart of its activities. For this very reason, it is essential that the first floor, where the Archive is housed, can be reached and enjoyed by all, ensuring spaces that are truly accessible and inclusive.
