sdisOrè (pronounced Oreste) retraces the path of rewriting the great tragedies, previously experimented with in Ambleto, Macbetto, and Edipus. Aeschylus’ Oresteia here becomes malleable material to be radically reinvented, entrusting a monologuing narrator with the torment of Orestes—Ore’, Orestes, Ore—and the voices and bodies of Clytemnestra, Aegisthus, and Electra.

The central focus of the text is the embodied word, which expresses its power by generating a new language each time: essentially a “Lombard language”, where dialect is only one of the elements, the attracting pole to which living and invented languages are attached.
