Michela Pomaro, THE FIVE SENSES
It was the passage of time that determined the existence of Michela Pomaro’s work. Although her installation was visible at all times of day, it was the changes in light that transformed it. The artist experimented with materials, playing with the viewer and deceiving him that what he was seeing were traditional canvases. In reality, Pomaro used phosphorescent pigments, which react with light and charge as soon as it gets dark, creating a surreal world. Inspired by cave paintings, the artist has drawn a symbolic code that is difficult to decipher, combining a childlike attitude with an in-depth study of the history and iconography of the Valley of Signs.
