Matteo Negri, OUR DAY WILL COME
Matteo Negri’s work starts with reality, which is transported into sculpture and distorted through the use of materials and the choice of dimensions. The dominant characteristics of his work are lightness and the desire to amaze the viewer, combined with a strong playful component. A game is one of the emblems that characterise his production: the famous Lego brick is, in fact, the primary module of one of his well-known series of sculptures. A symbol of creative experimentation par excellence, it is declined in colours, shapes and materials: in this case it took on the structure of a knotted string, whose sinuosity contrasted with the rigour of the starting element.
