Fulvia Mendini, NATURE IN ITS PLACE
The elegance of the arched display cases frames two painted wood sculptures hovering on a pedestal. Sinuous shapes and bright colours of tropical flora and fauna, a synthesis of innate elegance and vital fertility. On the walls, large flowers of a lost paradise retain their sap without ever overflowing: a multicoloured, electric chlorophyll is always on, called upon to draw imaginative contours. Looking into our eyes are four impeccable couples. Everything seems perfect and symmetrical without solution of continuity: from the bright blue eyes to the hat with brims, from the flowering branch to the lined up hair. Fulvia Mendini’s is a spring kept within the ranks, laid out with an order that enchants, where everything seems happy to be in its place.
