The Giovanni Testori Association organized an afternoon of celebrations in the garden of Casa Testori to mark the dedication of a rose to Giovanni Testori by the renowned German horticultural company Kordes.
The image of the rose, in fact, was one of the most recurring motifs in Testori’s work: a subject frequently depicted in his paintings and present in many of his poems.
To celebrate the occasion, several artists who had a strong connection with Testori were invited: Hermann Albert, Enzo Cucchi, Rainer Fetting, Klaus Mehrkens, Giovanni Frangi, and Alessandro Verdi. These artists paid tribute to the critic by creating works on the theme, which were exhibited in the large hall of the house alongside some of Testori’s own drawings.
During the afternoon, actors Anna Nogara and Andrea Carbelli honored Testori by performing some of his most beautiful rose-themed writings from the balcony of his bedroom.
