Francesco Fossati, FALSEFRIEND [UMBERTO]
FalseFriend is a series of commemorative plaques, like those that adorn the walls of many buildings in our cities, which recount invented but plausible events related to personalities from the world of culture. Francesco Fossati wants to create imaginary places through the construction of a new collective memory that, at the same time, allows us to become aware of already known spaces and to reflect on the gaps in national and international cultural policy (the work is on permanent display in Carrara, Montoro, Cormano and Novate Milanese). The definition of an event that never happened thus becomes a method for analysing reality.
