Monica Carrera, ISTANTANEE (CON T → ∞) (SNAPSHOTS)
The project Istantanee (con t → ∞) (Snapshots) was born from a study of the history of early photography. Monica Carrera, re-proposing the way a portrait was taken at the end of the 19th century, asked seven people to be immortalised, smiling in front of the camera, in solitude, for as long as possible. This request gave rise to seven videos, in which expressions rapidly follow one another on the faces of the protagonists, who are transformed, in some cases, into masks beyond the control of the subjects. Emotions flow uncontrolled and are delivered to infinity.
